To one of the few important women in my life: Happy Birthday :)

Now, get some rest!

Welp, i survived another christmas eve with the family. As many people probably thought, it wasnt as bad as it could have been. The evening started on a pretty sour note, and while that note carried through the entire night/morning; we were able to pull through.
In my discussions with Mantha tho, i discovered that perhaps why i seem to dislike Christmas with the family so much; is the possibility of “change” Christmas comes and with it brings the appearance of joy, togetherness, and family. However, in my experience the bubble seems to burst quite quickly. I find the year after year, the high ends with a huge crash- and my bitterness towards my family grows by leaps and bounds. I find i avoid some family interaction; just so that i can possibly hold onto whatever respect and tenderness i still have for the group as a whole (individually is another matter entirely…)
So it begins again, the evening was nice- and everyone (for the most part) had smiles and shared some laughter. Can this hope of real change in peoples minds hold clear? I know that i tend to change a lot with each passing experience with this family; maybe this time will be different? eh?

Hello everyone!!
HRD!
Yes indeed, HRD everyone… its been a long couple of months here. I find the desire to post is still strong! but the time given to me to do so is so limited :( I often wonder why i can help design (and practically execute) a website for Fanime in a day or two, but i still can redesign this site in 2 years… I think i’m just afraid of CSS! hahaha, i suck at it majorly.. seriously.
Anyways, the latest event has been Mantha’s 25th birthday ball extravaganza! It was great hanging out with so many old friends, showing off Ashley to the family, and just having a good time celebrating the life of Mantha. :) Mantha’s events always seem to have a way of “opening” people’s eyes and spurning events and ideas which spread on past our own lives. Hahaha, the things i learned and experienced this weekend will be with me for a long long time.
This weekend also showed me how much i do miss my life back in Davis (and at the same time, DONT miss it.. hahaha) In general, i miss the friends… the random evenings just chilling and talking and yes… gossiping! I miss heading out to Denny’s in big groups and sharing stories so hard to believe that it borders on a fantasy. I miss having so much fun that we forget what time it is. While its not necessarily totally lost to me, and i do still have some of these experiences- its some of the general players- Dave, Steve, James, Kalen, Clarissa… that i miss the most.
Ah well… it shows me that *I* need to make more of an effort to keep in touch- something i hope i can accomplish :) There are many other people who have moved to the fringes of my radar that i hope to draw back in to the center.
Anyways… back to school work-
Back to “redesigning” this blog… Perhaps i should stop trying to think so grandly, and bring it back to something clean and simple.

On saturday Mantha grasciously helped me help out out one of my friends, Mona on a photography project. The photoshoot title, “Relationships” between 2 people. Really, when Mona posted the request on RBJ, Mantha was the first person i thought of. Even when i put more thought into it, there was only 1 other person i would have liked to take pictures with.. :) (well other than maybe taking pictures with Guido! haha)
Anyways! Mantha came up from LA just for the picture taking! haha :) thanks Mantha… We got up “early” on saturday and drove out to meet Mona in San Francisco. It was a brisk afternoon, the wind was blowing and the sun was shining :) Beautiful day! After spending some time going over things, like wardrobe and location, we all drove out to a park near Golden Gate and took pictures. As usual, Mantha and my indecisiveness took hold and we had no idea how to “pose” but soon our natual tendancy towards violence won out and we spent many a photo entangled in some sort of battle to the death! hahaha. Leapfrogs, hand and foot wrestling, and supermans later. We were done… exausted, and dirty. :) But it was fun!
Afterwards Mantha and I drove out to Hayward to meet up with Clarissa and have some dinner. Mmm.. $90 bucks worth of sushi later we were stuffed blind! I was soo stuffed into a food coma that I had Mantha drive home :) hee.. All in all it was a good day.
