Final Daze

So its the last week of work; its not even a full week to any extent.

So far, today has been kick back, relaxed. Half the day is almost over and i’m bored.

Been bored a lot.

Tomorrow is another full day. wednesday is an all day staff gathering (picnic) Then Thursday is my last day.

i’m excited, and anti-social. I dont want to do anything; i dont really want to even be here. I would rather that i just stopped comming one day. I really realize how much i really hated being here near the end. I felt so held back and unaccomplished. I felt such a lack of satisfaction that its not even funny. I’m glad i’m leaving.

Its still a good place; just not a good place for me.

Running for Leukemia

I got this email from a friend of mine, please take a moment to read it.

Hi Hi!!

I’ve
traded my swimming flippers for running shoes!!!  Craziness!! ;)
Up till high school I swam year round at San Jose Aquatics since I was
a child.  I would rather swim than walk any place.  About 4
years ago, I forced myself to run and thought I was going to collapse
after a quarter mile.  I thought I would never be a “runner.”
In the last year, I’ve been practicing to run more than 2 minutes
and I ran my first 10K in Santa Cruz a couple months ago.  Now I’m
hooked!!!

So here I am, registered to run a half marathon for the SF Nike’ Women’s Marathon on October 23rd.

In
addition to just running, I am raising money for The Leukemia &
Lymphoma Society Make Cures Happen Program.  Each donation helps
accelerate cures for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.

Lymphoma
hit close to home when my sister got diagnosed last year in October
2004.  Luck was on our side and it was caught at an early stage.
She’s finished her chemotherapy and is now going through
radiation.  She’s currently in remission and will be done with
college at UCLA fall term this year.

Without all the people that
has worked so hard to find a “cure” I can’t imagine how different life
would be like.  So, I am asking you to help support a great cause
with me.

Please use the link in this email to donate online quickly and securely.

Thanks guys for everything!!

P.S. Please forward this email to as many people as you can to encouraging them to donate as well!

More Changes..

Yes, you can tell im going through that kind of phase in my life. I’m seeing so many changes happening all too quickly. i’m slowly watching as i turn over pieces of my past and heading out into a new… different future.

I finished my first round of online classes yesterday. It was a really rough experience, i had a time tryign to sort out class time with Fanime time and work time. Ah, and to top it off, the class itself was sucky; very confusing and very weird as far as deadlines and stuff.. boo; But i made it through!

today i moved my Tivo from my room, into the “storage” bedroom. I dont know how i ever got along without it in the first place, watching TV normally just seems to odd now. I also disconnected the digital box, its like giving up an old friend; i’ve had it for over 3 years now! (maybe longer)

All this has been done after the bathroom floors and kitchen floors were redone. and now the bathroom walls are being treated.. It almost feels like a new house!

It will be sad to see it go.

Ramblings.

Its been a slow day here at work. So slow that we find outselves fascinated by a toilet that was flushing itself for almost an hour now. Woooo…

There has been plenty of time to reflect; plenty of time to think about things that i really didnt have to think about. Time to see whats going on, and try to just… slow… down.

The events of the past few weeks have been pretty trying on my system. Many ups and downs and ups. Generally i think i’m pretty Happy. (which in itself is a underrated statement). I’ve been moving on, to things i know are “bigger and better” in the grand scheme of my life. I’m more mature, i’m more worryful about my actions and the effect it has on the people around me.

Bleh.. but there is still so much i want, so much i wish I could do. Many experiences i want to have, and people i want to share it with. there are still so many doubts about my future;

I worry a lot; Im not sure if its more or less than before; but i continue to worry. I hope the things i’ve done dont eventually catch up with me. Blah… I cant wait till this job is over, I cant wait till i’m driving down the 5, the hot wind blowing through my windows. I cant wait till i see the sunset over the horizon, the warm sky turning a pitch black. I cant wait till i see the stars of central california as i zip by pulling 90 Miles per hour. I cant wait till i find myself home.

It only takes an instant.

It only takes an instant.. my whole world was turned upside down in an instant. “Can you meet me at Davis, Guido got hit by a car…”

I had just returned from an already less than normal evening. I napped in the hot sun when i got home, i went out to dinner with my roomate, where one of my best friends, Rosina, just happened to be dinning as well. A normal day.

I remember getting home and walking in the door, i opened the back door and called out to Guido; I hadnt seen him all day…

I remember my phone ringing and seeing Jennifer’s name on the screen “weird.. her car is in front of the house”

I remember hearing her say the words.

I was dumbfounded, i told Antonio and immediately, as if on instinct, texted Mantha and Rosina with the news. Antonio and I then sat in the front yard, completely in a daze. 10 minutes later we came to our senses and called Jen back, found out where she was, and jumped in the car.

It was definately a rough ride. I had only a vague clue where i was going, and no clue at all how Guido was doing. Davis emergency vet clinic… Eventually after another phone call or two to Jen, we found ourselves at the UCDavis Vet Med School Emergency Clinic. I could feel myself shaking as i continued to message Rosina with where we were. It was a long walk, wandering around the side of the building looking for the Emergency door. We stood there, pulling at the door when we were mysteriously Buzzed in (ok, so someone was watching us on camera). We rushed inside and up the door and into the exam room.

Even as I saw him curled up under the desk, i was still in a state of shock. My worst fears were releaved a bit as he stood up and wandered a little. He was hit by a car as he sprinted across the street (after he was scared off from sneaking some food, the little scamp) He seemed to be taking off at full speed, as his major injuries are some cuts and scrapes on his right rear leg, and a cut on his front left paw. (The doctor said his front paw was probably injured as he swipped at the car when it hit him.. haha..)

Hes heavily medicated now, he needs antibiotics; and he has to stay indoors for at least 10 days. For a mostly outdoor cat with no litterbox, i think its going to be difficult for him. Its going to be difficult for us! But thank God he is alive.. he will recover, and hopefully he’s learned a valuable lesson.

Man.. it really only takes an instant doesnt it… An instant sooner and he could have been crushed.. and instant later and he would have been fine.. a few instants sooner and he would have also missed the car…
