Hold up… (wait a minute…)

Wow.. its been a little while. i feel bad. I got quoted and everything on RBJ and here i end up not posting for a while. i guess no new readership for me!

Its been busy tho; with Fanime Con obligations; school; and getting my act together to move out.. i havent had much time… Lots of things going through my mind (which seems to be the norm this time of year)

I find tho; that at this moment i have time for a little pause; some time to look back and forward and find where i am currently. Heh; just a few more days till one of my favorite persons turns another year older (or younger.. depending on how you look at it) Just a little under 2 weeks before i’ll be a “resident” of San Jose while preparing for, running, and taking down registration for Fanime Con… Then after that; its only 1 more month till my gainful unemployment.

Looking back tho, one night really comes out at me. This year’s Pilipino Culture Night at Davis. The show was pretty cool; the script needed some refinement.. (thats an understatement) and the story suffered from emotional bloating (way too many events ment purely to tug at heartstrings) but the underlying story and plot was very nice.

However, sitting there with some new skool APO members, and watching the show made me realize once again that “theres no going home again”.

Things in life are constantly changing; day to day my life is such an assortment of new ideas and old. Old habits have a tendancy of flaking off like dead skin cells, new habits become as addictive as crack. I have to go with the flow, let change happen; or be left behind.

No matter how much i miss the old days, or even look back on how things used to be.. i know that things cannot be that way again. I’m different, they are different… the world is a different place. Holding on to such desires as wishing for the “good ol days” will only lead to dissapointment and sadness.

My past is filled with great memories. I’ve found love, lost it.. found a greater love, and lost it too. I’ve made great friends, great companions, and great enemies. I have lived a good life.. and the future is scary; but brighter than i expected.

.. Mmm.. i ramble a lot; maybe i should structure these better.

Weekend Madness?

This weekend was pretty fun and very eventful. Saturday was full of FanimeCon “Goodness”. I began by waking up late, changing and snacking as i ran out the door to pick up Tony and begin our trek to the Bay. The ride was as normal as can be; a pit stop at Costco for some food and a drive full of random talk and me bashing “the Dems”. :-P (Talk radio and i have grown closer over the years.) The meeting was long and longer still; but things are getting accomplished; things are running along and we’re picking up what we can. The Con looks like its going to be great! and things are in the works for next year.

The ride back was funny as hell; First; coordinating with scott, tony, antonio, and Erica was an interesting concept. After all of us (minus scott) wandered into the convention center to measure the reg doors, scott picked us up and escorted us to our cars. We split up into three groups, and drove down to the Fanime Storage locker. After a brief tour of the imediate San Jose area… we found our way to the lockers and did some treasure hunting…

two cars full of crap later, we made our way to a burger joint, where we proceeded to stuff our faces silly. A long, deep, and amusing conversation with Erica later i found myself back home to unload.

Sunday was much more kickback and fun. I woke up in time to meet up with Julie! (Hi Julie!)After poking fun of the houseboy, we took off for what was supposed to be “Coffee” A few hours, 1 cup of moca, one iced tea, and lots of catching up later we found that hunger had taken our souls and we proceeded over to Dos. A yummy burito (and salad) later we had filled most of our day with memories, laughter, and maybe even a little but of TMI :-D but it was a great day, and time well spent catching up!

Boo; now its monday and i have to sit here at home waiting for the flooring people.
